The short version: DotRush has no in-app purchases and no email or password sign-up. Your progress, settings and stats are saved on your device. If you play online, the name you choose and your moves are shared with the other players in that match through Google Firebase. We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to see which modes are played and to fix crashes, and the App is free because it shows ads from Google AdMob. We never sell your data.
This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile game DotRush ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use it.
We collect only what the App needs to work. We do not ask for your real name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, photos, files, microphone or camera.
| Data | Why | Where it is kept |
|---|---|---|
| Player name: the name you set in the App ("Player" by default). It does not need to be your real name. | Shown on your profile, and to the other players in an online match | Your device; and Firebase for online matches you join |
| Anonymous sign-in ID: a random ID issued by Firebase Authentication when you first open Online | Letting the server check that only you can act for your seat in a match | Firebase |
| Online match records: room code, seats, each player's name and colour, ready and connection status, "last seen" time, every move and wall placed, and the result | Running the match live, rejoining after a disconnect, and detecting when a player has left | Firebase Realtime Database |
| Usage events (Firebase Analytics): for example "game started", the mode and player count, "game completed", "wall placed", "training lesson completed", along with app-instance ID, device model, OS version, language and approximate country | Understanding which modes are played so we can improve the game | Firebase (Google) |
| Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics): stack traces, device model, OS version, free memory and a random installation ID | Finding and fixing crashes | Firebase (Google) |
Analytics events never include your player name, room codes or the contents of your matches.
The following stays in your device's standard app storage and is not sent to us:
Offline, Vs Computer and Training games are played entirely on your device. If your device is connected to the internet, the anonymous usage events, crash reports and ads described in this policy may still be sent while you play them.
Online play uses Firebase Authentication (anonymous sign-in only) and the Firebase Realtime Database. Google processes this data on our behalf as a service provider. As with any internet service, Google's servers also receive technical data such as your IP address in order to deliver the service. See Firebase Privacy and Security and the Google Privacy Policy.
All traffic between the App and Firebase is encrypted in transit (TLS). Server security rules make sure only the player in a seat can move for it, that moves are recorded in order, and that nobody can list other people's matches.
To keep waiting times short, Quick Match may fill empty seats with computer-controlled players.
In an online match, the other players see your player name, your colour, whether you are ready or connected, and your moves. There is no chat. Please do not use your real full name, or anything else that identifies you, as your player name.
The App shows ads served by Google AdMob. To deliver, measure and protect ads from fraud, Google may automatically collect from your device:
Google collects this under its own policies; we never receive it. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. We do not send your player name or your matches to the advertising SDK.
Ads appear only in these places:
Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland): before any ad is requested, the App asks for your consent through Google's User Messaging Platform where the law requires it. You can change your answer later in Settings → Privacy Options.
Personalised ads elsewhere: you can opt out on your device at Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID.
Information stored on your device stays until you clear the App's storage or uninstall it. Online match records stay in the database because they are part of the other players' matches too. You can ask for yours to be removed (see Section 7). Firebase Analytics keeps event data for up to 14 months, and Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days.
On your device: uninstall the App, or clear its storage in your device settings. This removes your name, settings, stats and progress.
Online data: contact us through the developer contact details on the App's Google Play page and include the player name you used and, if you know it, the room code. We will remove your name from the online match records within 30 days and confirm by reply.
Analytics: you can reset your device's Advertising ID at any time, and analytics data is tied only to an app-instance ID that is removed when you uninstall the App.

* Advertising data is collected by the Google Mobile Ads SDK and processed by Google. Firebase acts as our service provider.
DotRush is a general-audience game. It is not directed at children under 13, and its ads are not configured for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Online play shows players' self-chosen names, so parents may prefer that younger children stick to Offline, Vs Computer and Training. If you believe a child under 13 has played online under an identifying name, contact us and we will remove it.
We rely on Google Firebase's infrastructure, encryption in transit and server-side security rules to protect data. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, but we keep what we collect to the minimum needed to run the game.
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR and the CCPA give you the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, and to object to its processing. You can change your player name at any time in your Profile. For anything else, use the developer contact on the App's Google Play page. We have never sold personal information and do not intend to.
We may update this policy, for example if the App gains new features. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. If a change affects what we collect, we will also mention it in the App's release notes.
